Cartist Paints Mobile Toilets in Jaipur

We all are aware of how poorly Jaipur performed in the cleanliness survey, coming 215th in the Swachh Survekshan 2017. Post the survey results Jaipur Municipal Corporation JMC and Jaipur JDA have been coming up with new measures like door-to-door garbage collection and now portable toilets in Jaipur, to improve the city’s position when it comes to sanitation and cleanliness.

Artists from the Cartist group painted mobile toilets in Jaipur. This has been done in effort to merge PM Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives with art. The mobile toilets released by Jaipur Municipal Corporation have been painted in beautiful colours of Jaipur blue pottery by the artist group based in Jaipur.

This initiative has been taken to promote awareness about sanitation and cleanliness among Jaipurites. Also, the Cartist group will try and connect people with the traditional art of Jaipur through painting these portable toilets in Jaipur.

We definitely need to address the sanitation issue in the city of Jaipur, especially after Jaipur couldn’t even make it to the top 200 cleanest cities in India. And art seems to be a good medium to do so.
