Highest IAS officers selected from Rajasthan this time


A good news for state from field of Indian Administrative Services.!

Students of Rajasthan have been performing tremendously well in fields like Chartered Accountancy, Medical and engineering. But this time aspirants of Indian Administrative Services from Rajasthan have outshone the aspirants of all other states. Out of the total 178 IAS officers qualified for the most prestigious degree of the country, a total of 28 candidates are from Rajasthan.  Normally Uttar Pradesh and Bihar top this list but this time Rajasthan topped the list. 23 officers from Uttar Pradesh and 21 officers from Bihar have been selected.

The experts are of the opinion that the main reason behind highest successful selection from Rajasthan would be change in exam pattern and reduction in dependence on English.

Union Public Service Commission increased the papers of General subject from 2 to 4, while optional papers were reduced from 4 to 2 due to which graduate students cleared the exam.

Jaipur has developed as a hub of IAS coaching in last few years. While formerly, for exam preparation, students of sub-urban areas were heavily dependent on metropolitan cities like Delhi, now they are able to complete their coaching from Jaipur which has helped them scoring well.

Although upon combining the data for last 5 years, Uttar Pradesh stills tops the list with selection of total 118 IAS officers. Rajasthan with 97 IAS officers comes second in the list while Bihar has been pushed to 3rd position.

There are total 4,926 IAS officers at present in the country out of which 4,088 officers (83% of total officers) are males while 838 (17% of total officers) are females. Out of this, 731 officers have qualified from Uttar Pradesh, while 462 officers have qualified from Bihar and 376 officers qualified from Rajasthan.
