Hanuman Janmotsav – Special Events in Temples

Procession Today: 43 Tableaus Along with 10 Hanuman Temples

After the evening aarti at 5 PM from Ramlila Maidan, the Chief Minister will flag off the procession.

In Jaipur, on the occasion of Chaitra Shukla Purnima (Hanuman Janmotsav), celebrations were held across temples in the city.

  • Special arrangements have been made in temples.
  • The 40th Hanumat Shobha Yatra (procession) will be carried out.
  • The main chariot will carry the idol of Hanuman Ji from the historic Swarn Mandir established during Jaipur’s foundation.
  • The procession will include:
    • 1 elephant
    • 4 camels
    • 4 horses
    • 4 bands
  • Along with this, 43 decorative tableaus (Jhankis) will be showcased.
  • A separate chariot of Neem Karoli Baba will also be part of the procession.
  • The procession will begin at 5 PM and reach Sanganeri Gate Hanuman Temple by 6 PM.
  • Organizers mentioned that:
    • A 12-foot-tall idol of Hanuman Ji has been installed at Badi Chaupar for two days, attracting large crowds.

Sundarkand & Hanuman Chalisa Recitations

  • At Shri Vishnu Dham Venkateshwar Temple (Gopalpura area):
    • The idol of Hanuman Ji was decorated with jasmine flowers.
    • Ritual bathing (abhishek) was performed with jasmine oil.
    • More than 900 families participated.
    • Collective recitation of Sundarkand and Hanuman Chalisa was conducted.
  • At Chandi Ki Taksal Kale Hanuman Temple:
    • Celebrations were held under the guidance of Mahant Gopaldas Maharaj.
  • At Motidungri Ganesh Temple:
    • A flag procession (Dharm Yatra) also took place.
  • At Veer Hanuman Temple (Purani Basti, near Mishri Khan area):
    • Special decoration was done using sindoor (vermillion) and gold foil.

  • A 12-foot tall Hanuman statue was beautifully decorated.
  • The full moon appeared as if Lord Ram was giving darshan.

  • Ramlila Maidan
  • Sanganeri Gate
  • Haldiyon Ka Rasta
  • Badi Chaupar
  • Tripolia Gate
  • And other major markets

 Idols in 10 प्रमुख Hanuman Temples

  1. Kale Hanuman Ji
    • Made of black stone, decorated with silver; south-facing and very powerful.
  2. Khole Ke Hanuman Ji
    • Located in Lakshman Doongri; a large idol in a reclining posture. The name “Khole” comes from its appearance from behind a hill.
  3. Galta Ji (Hanuman Temple)
    • Here Hanuman Ji is worshipped in the form of Lord Ram’s servant (Ram Bhakt).
  4. Chandpole Hanuman Ji
    • Located at Chandpole Gate; considered the protector of the city, very ancient and revered.
  5. Panchmukhi Hanuman (Amer Road)
    • Five-faced divine idol representing Narasimha, Varaha, Garuda, Hayagriva, and Hanuman.
  6. Bal Hanuman Temple (Purani Basti)
    • Features a beautiful child-form idol of Hanuman Ji.
  7. Sankat Mochan Hanuman (Ambabari)
    • In blessing posture; devotees pray here for fulfillment of wishes.
  8. Dakshinmukhi Hanuman (Sanganeri Gate)
    • Known for removing Vastu dosha (architectural/energy defects); faces south.
  9. Veer Hanuman Temple (near Samod)
    • Situated on a hill; a large idol in a brave (Veer) posture.
  10. Bajrang Bali Temple (Sanganer)
  • Idol in fearless posture; famous for devotional chanting and hymns (Chaupai & Kirtan).
