“Women’s leadership will increase through Nari Shakti Vandan, stronger participation in policy-making: CM”
The Chief Minister explained the importance of the Act to women from different sectors.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will strengthen women’s leadership. This will increase women’s participation in policy-making. He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in Parliament is a historic step towards women empowerment in the country.
Under this Act, one-third of the seats in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies will be reserved for women. Women’s participation in policy-making will increase, which will help accelerate the goal of a developed India by 2047.
The Chief Minister was addressing women from various sectors at a program organized at the CM residence on Sunday.
Reference to Central and State Schemes:
The CM said that since 2014, the central government has given priority to women empowerment. He mentioned schemes such as Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Mission, stating that a large number of women have benefited from these initiatives.
Focus on Women Empowerment:
The Chief Minister said that under the state government’s Ladli Protsahan Yojana, benefits are being provided to girls. Under the Maa Voucher Scheme, pregnant women are receiving free sonography facilities.
The Kalika Patrolling Unit is actively working for women’s safety. More than 1.6 million (16 lakh) women have benefited from the Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
At the event, women were informed about various schemes run by both central and state governments for women empowerment. Women from multiple sectors—such as women and child development, MSMEs, industry, education, media, police, medical field, social work, and social media influencers—were present.
Youth Will Become Job Creators:
Plans are being made in the state to make youth job creators, so they can start their own ventures instead of depending on jobs and also provide employment to others. To make youth self-reliant, effective schemes and resources are being provided.
On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, youth policy, skill policy, and employment policy have been implemented in the state, marking strong steps towards overall development.
Under the Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme, loans of up to ₹10 lakh are being provided to youth with 100% interest subsidy and margin money support. A provision of more than ₹1000 crore has been made for this scheme.
