Two World Records Created in the City; 4,000 Children Took CPR Training on the Same Ground

Organization’s claim – Records of Ireland and Bengaluru broken

Thousands of children together created two world records on Wednesday by practicing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) at the same place. This initiative was organized to raise awareness about saving lives during heart attacks through CPR.

During the program, 400 school children along with a total of 413 participants practiced CPR simultaneously on 200 mannequins, leading to the creation of two Guinness World Records.

Details of the Records

  1. First Record: The highest number of people performing CPR together at one place.
  2. Second Record: The highest number of people practicing on mannequins (human models) at the same time.

Previous Records Broken

Organizers claimed that the previous records were:

  • 331 participants (29 September 2024 in Bengaluru), and
  • 278 mannequins (25 March 2000 in Shoppers, Ireland).

Jaipur broke both these records. The event was held at Jaipur World Record Carnival at the Rajasthan University ground.

According to Niraj Sharma, schools should make CPR training mandatory.

24.4% of Deaths in Rajasthan Due to Heart Disease

As per the National Health Profile 2022 report, in Rajasthan:

  • 24.4% of medically certified deaths are due to heart disease and heart attacks.
  • Nationally, this figure is 40.8%.
  • In Rajasthan in 2022, 19,656 people lost their lives to heart-related diseases.
  • Among them, 12,416 men and 7,240 women died due to heart disease.
  • About 26% of these deaths were due to heart attacks.
