The skies of the Pink City will be filled with pride and excitement on February 20 and 22. The world-renowned Suryakiran aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force will perform a breathtaking air show with its 9 Hawk MK-132 aircraft near the Jal Mahal. The aircraft will create the tricolor from smoke by forming close formations like diamond, loop, mirror run and wine glass at an altitude of 100 to 1000 feet. The team is led by Group Captain Ajay Dasharathi. The special thing is that this time three fighter pilots from Jaipur will perform aerobatics in the skies of their own city.

The Suryakiran team is known for its gravity-defying formations, low-level passes, and precise timing, including nine aircraft formations and upside-down flights . During the show, the nine aircraft will fly in a tight formation and then rejoin, forming different formations in a split second. After Jaipur, an air show is also planned for Sikar, but permission is awaited from the top level.

Rajesh Kajla, Wing Commander Originally from Kudan, Sikar, Rajesh Kajla's family lives in Murlipura, Jaipur. He flies at position number 6 in the Suryakiran team. He has over 2,800 hours of flying experience on various fighter aircraft, including the Sukhoi-30 MKI. He has flown aircraft such as the HPT-32, Kiran Mark-1, PC-7, and MiG-21. His father, Subedar Major Hariram Kajla, is a retired soldier from the 11 Gorkha Rifles.

Ankit Vashisht, Squadron Leader Ankit, a resident of Mansarovar, attended Ryan International School. He was selected for the NDA in 2008. He was one of the last pilots to fly the MiG-21 T-75 before 2019. He has been part of the Suryakiran team since 2023 and has experience in over 70 displays. With 1800 hours of flying experience, Ankit has flown the MiG-21 Bison, MiG-21 Type-75, and Hawk. He is a squash and badminton player.

Sanjesh Singh, Squadron Leader Sanjesh Singh, a resident of Jhotwara, studied at the Army School, Jaipur, and received his B.Tech from the Vivekananda Institute of Technology. His father is a retired Army officer, and his elder brother is a Lieutenant Colonel. He flies in the 5th rank on the Suryakiran team. He previously served as a flying instructor and piloted a Sukhoi-30. He has over 2,000 hours of flying experience.

  • Barrel Roll - The aircraft will spin in a circular motion while moving forward. The pilot will lose balance and control.
  • Loop – The aircraft makes a circular motion in the air, going up, turning upside down, and then coming back down to the ground.
  • Crosses – Two or more aircraft will pass each other in close proximity.
  • Inverted Flying- In this the aircraft flies upside down.
  • Heart Maneuver – Aircraft will be seen forming a heart shape with colored smoke i.e. smoke trail.

The team consists of 14 pilots, who fly these aircraft together at a distance of less than 5 meters in the air. The team consists of 14 pilots. The team leader is Captain Ajay Dasarathi.
