Sikar Road and New Sanganer Road corridors to become signal-free; 4 new box culverts to be built on Dravyavati

1200-meter-long footpaths will be built on Loha Mandi Road

To streamline traffic and improve connectivity between colonies, five major intersections in the city will be made signal-free. Additionally, four new box culverts will be constructed on the Dravyavati River to connect nearby colonies.

For pedestrian convenience, about 2,200 meters of footpaths will be built on both sides of Kalwar Road, and approximately 1,200 meters of footpaths on both sides of Loha Mandi Road.

These proposals were approved during the Traffic Control Meeting held at the JDA headquarters’ Manthan Auditorium on Thursday, chaired by JDA Commissioner Nishant Jain.

Pedestrian crossings and roadside horticulture will be developed

During the meeting, it was decided to redevelop the Sikar Road Corridor and the New Sanganer Road Corridor.
To reduce traffic congestion on New Sanganer Road, the following works will be carried out:

  • Signal-free U-turns
  • Safe crossings for pedestrians
  • Roadside horticulture development

These measures will help make traffic flow smoother and more organized.

Additionally, under the Dravyavati River Project, four new box culverts will be constructed to improve connectivity between city colonies. The exact locations for these culverts have not yet been finalized.

Improvements will be made at these major intersections

Approval has been granted for scientific redevelopment and strengthening of major high-traffic junctions, including:

  • Panchyawala
  • Jan Path
  • Chitrakoot Circle
  • Gaurav Road
  • Mahal Road
  • Vatika Road
  • Ambabari

To reduce road accidents, several unsafe median cuts across the city will also be closed.

Safe zones will be developed

To enhance road safety for students, safe school and college zones will be developed in the city.

In the first phase, pilot projects will begin near:

  • St. Xavier’s School (Bhagwan Das Road)
  • St. Soldier School
  • Maharani School

Facilities such as:

  • Table-top crossings
  • Speed markings
  • Pedestrian crossings
  • Guard rails

will be developed to ensure safer movement of traffic in school areas.
