Free Left Turn at JDA Circle, Slip Lane to Be Widened; Relief Expected During Peak Hours

Footpaths to Be Built for Pedestrians at Three Intersections

The left-turn lane at JDA Circle will be made free, and the width of the slip lane will be increased. Due to hospitals, educational institutions, and JDA buildings located from Rambagh to JDA Circle, the traffic load in this area remains high. Because of this, vehicles taking the left turn often get stuck in traffic jams, and congestion sometimes extends up to nearby hospitals.

As traffic issues increase during peak hours, the JDA green belt and footpath will be slightly reduced to create space for two vehicles to pass simultaneously. Spring post bollards will also be installed to separate the left-turn lane so that vehicles going straight cannot enter this lane.

Vehicles coming from Rambagh towards Moti Doongri via JLN Marg will be able to use this lane.

Model Already Implemented at Several Intersections Earlier

Earlier, free left-turn systems had already been implemented at Rambagh, Nagar Nigam, Narayan Singh Circle, Gandhi Nagar, and Takhteshahi Road. Footpaths for pedestrians will also be constructed at Rambagh Circle, Trimurti Circle, and Narayan Singh Circle so that traffic movement and pedestrian movement remain separate.

Spring Post Bollards Do Not Break Even in Collisions

  • Spring post bollards are installed on major city roads for lane separation and free left turns. These are flexible traffic safety devices.
  • Even after being hit by vehicles, they do not break; instead, they bend and return to their original position.
  • They are fitted with reflective tape, making them clearly visible at night in vehicle headlights.
  • They are made of polyurethane plastic and are commonly used at busy intersections, malls, highway dividers, and residential areas.
