It is very difficult for students with visual disability to find the sufficient study material in the market designed to suit their specific needs. Though one can easily find almost any study material on the internet and computers provide some accessibility features for visually challenge, such accessibility options are very basic and fail to present he accurate solution.  Now there is good news for visually challenged students.

Jaipur based 15 years boy Aman Deep Singh has designed a device called “Rotational Mechanism Based Brail Pin Actuation Technology”. After attaching this device with the computer the visually challenged can read any document on the computer without any difficulty. Each word of the computer documents will automatically be converted into brail script.

Took only 2.5 months to develop the device, Priced at Rs.700

  • The similar devices sold in the market presently cost as much as Rs.60,000 while the new invention will cost just a fraction of the price: Less than Rs. 700.
  • It took only 2.5 month to invent this device. The MPS student invented this device that worked on screw mechanism. He invented this device just before his board exams.
  • The machine was invented in January while it patent was published in February. It will help the visually challenged people to perform various tasks over the internet.

How will it work?

The device is specifically programmed to show the computer data without connecting to to the computer. The most unique feature of the device is that it is already data enabled.

  • On the hardware 4 characters are created with the aid of pin and matchstick.
  • As soon as the visually challenged people will press the button the character will be displayed on the hardware.
  • Pressing the keys of the keyboard will automatically convert the visual characters on the monitor into Brail symbol. The major benefit o the device will be that it will enable the visually challenged people to take the benefit of literary and academic content.
