AI technology makes Jaipur Airport smart: Crowd management, reduced waiting times, and a seamless travel experience for passengers

Jaipur International Airport has launched a new system to manage the increasing number of passengers and manage peak-hour congestion. Jaipur International Airport Limited has launched an AI-enabled Airport Queue Management System (AQMS) at both terminals.

This system continuously monitors the number and movement of passengers in different parts of the airport through Artificial Intelligence (AI) based analytics.

The unique feature of AQMS , a system installed in various zones of the terminal, is that it provides real-time data on passenger traffic in various zones of the terminal, such as entry areas, security checkpoints, check-in counters, and boarding gates. Based on this information, dedicated helpdesks and customer service executives are immediately alerted. This allows additional resources to be deployed if needed and passengers to receive timely assistance.

According to airport management, this system is proving particularly useful during peak hours, when passenger traffic is highest. AQMS is reducing waiting times, which measure the average time it takes passengers to get from security checkpoint to the boarding gate.

This gives airport staff an advance understanding of where pressure is increasing and they can take immediate action there.

Passenger problems will be identified. This AI-based technology is not only increasing passenger convenience but also strengthening the airport's operational efficiency. Real-time response allows passenger problems to be identified immediately and resolved quickly. Given the ever-increasing passenger load, this smart system is playing a vital role in managing passenger congestion.

Airport officials stated that the Airport Queue Management System is enhancing the passenger experience by combining artificial intelligence and human capabilities. According to officials, this technology is providing a more seamless, safe, and comfortable experience to millions of passengers traveling through Jaipur Airport. Such modern technologies will continue to be adopted in the future for passenger convenience.

Adani's company manages the airport. It should be noted that Jaipur International Airport is managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, considered India's largest private airport operator. Jaipur International Airport is the busiest airport in Rajasthan, handling over 6 million passengers in the financial year 2024-25 and recording an average of 120 air traffic movements per day.

Spread over 776 acres, Jaipur Airport is a digital-first airport. It is known for its cutting-edge technology and operational excellence. Jaipur Airport has also received the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) accreditation and ACI Level-3 accreditation in May 2025.

Now, with AI-based systems like AQMS, Jaipur Airport has taken another big step towards providing a better, congestion-free and smart travel experience to the passengers.
