Green Holi: 2,200 Quintals of Cow Dung Logs Prepared in 3 Cow Shelters for Holika Dahan

Holi bonfires can be held at 2,000 locations; 1,300 trees will be saved from being cut
Just as planting trees is important for environmental protection, saving trees is even more crucial. At Shri Pinjrapole Gaushala in Sanganer (near Jaipur), and at Shri Bheruji Maharaj Gaushala in Rampura Unti, operated by the Go Seva Parivar Samiti Bagru, cow dung logs (Gokasht) have been prepared for the past month.

For Holika Dahan, more than 2,200 quintals of cow dung logs have been prepared. This will allow Holika Dahan to take place at over 2,000 locations, and help save more than 1,300 trees from being cut.

  • Shri Pinjrapole Gaushala, Sanganer:
    1,000 quintals prepared.
    Minister of the organization, Vivek Ladha, said that 700 quintals have already been sent for Holika Dahan.
  • Shri Bheruji Maharaj Gaushala, Rampura Unti:
    1,000 quintals prepared.
    Gokasht in-charge Vishnu Agrawal said that people are becoming increasingly aware of environmental protection.
  • Arya Samaj Adarsh Nagar:
    200 quintals of cow dung logs ordered.

An Initiative to Protect the Environment Along with Tradition

Cow dung logs are considered the best alternative for Holika Dahan. Traditionally, cow dung cakes have been used for this purpose. This initiative not only helps in environmental conservation but also provides financial support to cow shelters.
