Wildlife Week in October 2016: Forest Department Plans Fun Activities for Jaipur Kids


It has been known that the Nahargarh Fort and its surrounding area were lately gifted with a biological park. The Forest Department of the state has been undertaking maximum opportunities and has been organising activities to promote human footfall to the Nahargarh Biological Park area to let people experience nature and wildlife to its fullest.  

Celebrating wildlife week with amusing yet informative activities

Wildlife Week will be celebrated across the nation by the people of the country in the month of October. To increase the footfall of people towards the Nahargarh Biological Park and to broaden the familiarity of children about wildlife, the Forest Department is organising numerous entertaining activities for Jaipur kids.

New conceptualized activities for children

The Forest Department is going to organize various activities at the Jaipur Zoo as well throughout the week. But stepping up and ahead in the league, the Forest Department is systematising promotional activities at the Nahargarh Biological Park this time. What stands out as a unique step this year in the promotional activities is that the officials of the Forest Department have added certain new and conceptualized acts for children to the list of activities.

Bird watching free of cost, puppet show and more

School going children have a fruitful chance of experiencing the joy of bird watching at the Nahargarh Biological Park, totally  free of cost on the first day of the wildlife week. A puppet show has also been organized for the kids so that they can learn more about wildlife in a fun way. The puppet show will take place all week as they are much adored by the little school going kids of Jaipur. The officials of the Forest Department have organised this with an objective of making kids learn and gain knowledge.

Schedule for the Wildlife Week program

- October 1, 2016 – Walk for conservation, quiz competition, bird identification, bird watching

- October 2, 2016 - Animal tribute program

- October 3, 2016 – Hindi/English essay competition

- October 4, 2016 – Image identification and a short play enactment at Jaipur Zoo and Ravindra Manch respectively

- October 5, 2016 – Vyakhyan competition in English

- October 6, 2016 – Collage making vyakhyan competition in Hindi

- October 7, 2016 – Spot painting
