Suvigya Sharma: Jaipur artist and his impressive gold paintings


Jaipur based artist Suvigya Sharma rose to fame with his fantabulous gold and miniature paintings. His paintings are glorifying the houses of more than 100 renowned personalities of the country including several Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, politicians and business men of Mumbai.

Early Life

Born on 28th July 1983 in Jaipur, Rajasthan to R.K. Sharma, Suvigya Sharma is a renowned artist today. The Jaipur boy did his schooling from Maharaja Sawai Mansingh School and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Vidyashram. He later graduated from Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata and studied Foreign Trade and Export Management from Symbiosis International University, Pune.

Suvigya Sharma and his Paintings

Suvigya Sharma startes painting when he was just 7 years old. And he never stopped. He claims to have inherited the skill of miniature painting from his father R.K. Sharma. His work is influenced by Kishangarh style miniature art. Another speciality of his work is that he uses 24-carat gold for his gold work paintings.While he has been pursuing his painting talent professionally in Mumbai since 2002, Suvigya credits Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra for his success. It was during 2008-09 that the actress not only bought his paintings for display at home but also introduced his artwork to celebrities.

Achievements

Suvigya Sharma's paintings make it to the limelight and have remained to be a centre of attraction in several art exhibitions. He does miniature paintings, Tanjore paintings, fresco work and portraits.

  1. He worked for restoring the fresco painting at City Palace, Jaipur, Jama Masjid and Singapore Art Museum.
  2. In February, 2016, Suvigya Sharma's artwork 'Timeless Miniature Art' was showcased at Make in India event.
  3. He made his place in the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for creating the world's first life-size Siddhi Vinayak painting with 4D effect, a technique that has not been attempted by any other artist.
  4. He designed the cover page of Chef Vikas Khanna's coffee table book 'Utsav'. He also did the portrait of the chef and several dishes on the cover page of the book as well as the title of the book has been crafted using gold.
  5. He has done paintings and portraits for more than 100 eminent celebrities including Sanjay Dutt, Sachin Tendulkar, etc.
