PCM Event Ambassador Raj Vadgama to Run from Mumbai to Jaipur


It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and perseverance to become the Face of Running for the entire nation. Here we talk about the first person to run a Bharathon (10,000 kms across India – North, West, South and East), the Ultra Marathoner and now the Event Ambassador of Pink City Marathon – Mr. Raj Vadgama.

Achievements of Ultra Marathoner Raj Vadgama

  • Raj Vadgama ran for the first time in Mumbai Marathon in the year 2004.
  • He is the first Indian and a national record holder to run 100 kms at Khardungla Pass in Leh in just 18 hours.
  • In April 2012 he ran for 160 kms in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan when the temperature was 50C.
  • In May 2012 he covered 1500 kms distance between Delhi and Mumbai running for 30 days.
  • In October 2013 he ran for 220 kms in Bhati Lake Ultra Run in Faridabad.
  • He ran 10,000 kms across India to touch all the 4 corners of the country (North, West, South and East) in just 165 days from August 15, 2014 to January 26, 2015. He is the first person to run a Bharathon.
  • He is the Face of Running for the entire nation and the Event Ambassador of Pink City Marathon.

Vadgama will run from Mumbai to Jaipur

Raj Vadgama will run for 1183 kms all the way from Mumbai to Jaipur in 16 days. 3 Limca records holder Vadgama is the event ambassador for the Pink City Marathon that will be organized for the first time on 18th December, 2016. The 49-year-old Mumbai resident and Ultra Marathoner Raj told that he will begin his run from Mumbai on 28-29th November and will reach Jaipur by 15th December. On his way, he will pass through several areas of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan. Runners in huge crowds will support him. The motive behind this Mumbai to Jaipur run by Raj Vadgama is to promote health and fitness amongst Jaipur and other cities as well as amongst the youth living in villages.

“Running is the best way to stay fit”, says Raj

Raj Vadgama told that he came to know that he has blood pressure problem when he was 22. But niow he has no such health issue. Raj said that people have forgotten about the importance of health and fitness being engrossed in our busy city lifestyle. We tend to neglect our health for work. This is why India has the greatest number of diabetes and blood pressure patients in the world. In such a scenario, he considers running as the best way out. Vadgama said that running is such a sport that allows you to stay fit without any investment.
