Jaipur Scientist Kamlesh Saini's Research to Help Skyscrapers Stay Clean

The sky high buildings all around the world, yes the skyscrapers we mean, these tall buildings shall not appear to have a single bit of dust particle on them anymore. These buildings will not even require cleaning anymore for they are said to clean all by themselves.

Thin film to be put on the sky high buildings:

A unique things has been developed, which is a thin film that is expected to be coated/layered or in simpler words be put on these skyscrapers which will not allow dust to settle down on the buildings.

Shining out and standing tall buildings:

This thin film will enable the buildings to radiate a shine of cleanliness and stand out from the rest.

Reduced labour cost for cleaning:

The usage of this thin film is also said to reduce the labour costs that are attached with cleaning of the exterior of the buildings.

Thin film founder:

Such a finding and research has been conducted and concluded by a group of scientist named Kamlesh Saini and Group who belong to and are based in the city of Jaipur and have done this research under the Netherlands University.

Founders’ educational and work background:

The group has completed their graduation from IIT-Delhi (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi) and has further pursued their post graduation (Masters of Technology) from Sweden.
Post all this, the group went on with quite a few studies and experiments in Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Dresden University of Technology and Eindhoven University of Technology in Netherlands.
Different scientists in the Eindhoven University of Technology of Netherlands have also researched upon this newly found technology of thin film.

Thin film technicalities:

  • The lightest form and derivation of plastic is a polymer film.
  • The touch screen of a smart phone is made by way of this. Merely by touching this, the functions of it change.
  • In this very same polymer, a chemical named fluorinated azobenzene has been mixed. The mixing of this chemical in polymer, lends polymer further more flexibility.
  • The output generated by this mix is highly sensitive. A thin film of this has been created. The sense (touch) of this is highly sensitive. This can be sufficed with the example that merely when sunlight falls on this thin film, vibration begin to take place on the film.
  • This vibration will not allow any kind of dust to sit on the buildings.
  • Research is still in progress fir the usage of this film in light of a long term perspective.

Solar panels to be equipped with this thin film:

This new type of thin film is said to be very useful. For now it is being proposed and planned to set the film on solar panels.
Using the film on a solar panel will reduce the usage of water that is used in cleaning of the solar panels and also in the near future, this thin film will be utilized in the creation of solar panels.
This is also said to be economical in nature.
Also it is said that when at a later date the thin film becomes waste and is no more in a state to be used, it will not create dirt and mess around.
