Beware Sixty Percent Passwords Of The Email Ids Are Mobile Numbers.


A survey on Internet Security was done and It was found that people are not serious. Many of the user passwords of email IDs and facebook accounts can be cracked easily. The list of easily – crackable words are attached herewith.

Technology is one word that derives your life into a simpler way. But this technology has its own cons and the risk of cyber crime is increasing with the rise in technology. Technology is for our ease but our little deeds on internet can ask for a big return. It is very important for us to keep some points of security in mind while accessing internet.

A survey was done to understand the behaviour of people on cyber life. With considering the cyber life and other features of online crimes, a survey was done by distributing survey forms in which personal details like Mother’s Name, Father’s Name, Mobile Number, Email Address etc. were asked. While trying to put their mobile numbers as a password for their mail IDs it was found that sixty percent of the passwords of the email IDs are mobile numbers.  

Due to security reasons, many of the email services do not accept mobile numbers as a password. That is you can not set your mobile number as password, even if you want to. But these were those people who haven’t changed their passwords for many years. Some users have set their date of birth as their password. Many a time, people while filling some forms in the malls and public places, write their email ids and mobile numbers in the forms, which can be very insecure. This is insecure even while making payment online or while recharging. While accessing your email address, hacker can easily use services like internet banking, pay tm wallet and other important services.

Use These Factors And Stay Secure!

  1. Don’t set any default password for your email address.
  2. Don’t set your password as your date of birth, mobile number, nick names, pet names, and child’s name.
  3. Keep changing your password from time to time.
  4. Always set a password which is a combination of a word, an upper case letter, a lower case letter, numbers, and a special key word (s). ( Example - Of.Jaipur0000 )
  5. Always try to keep your mobile and email address safe.
