Jaipur Northern Ring Road Project Begins on Ground: 99 km Stretch to Pass Through 200 Villages

The ambitious Jaipur Northern Ring Road project has officially begun taking shape on the ground. Following approval from the Central Government, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has started land measurement and field surveys as the first step toward construction.

A private company’s survey team has identified the starting point near Chitroli on Ajmer Road, close to Bagru. From there, land measurement work is progressing steadily across Kalwad, Jobner, Rampura Dabri, Jalsu, and Chomu—particularly in areas where vacant land is readily available.

Project Overview

Under this project, a 99.350 km long, six-lane Northern Ring Road will be developed from Chitroli (Ajmer Road) to Bassi via Bagran, ending at Agra Road.
Land will be acquired from 200 villages, which will be utilized for road construction, widening, maintenance, and future management.

NHAI has issued a notification under Section 3(A) of the National Highways Act, 1956, appointing the Additional District Collector-II of Jaipur as the Competent Authority for Land Acquisition (CALA).

Key Benefits of the Project

Once completed, the Northern Ring Road will significantly ease traffic movement around Jaipur:

  • Vehicles traveling from Ajmer to Delhi will no longer need to enter Jaipur city. They will be able to join the Ring Road 20 km before the city, ensuring a direct and faster connection to the Delhi Highway.
  • The same ease of connectivity will apply to vehicles coming from Agra and Ajmer highways.
  • The project will reduce the movement of heavy vehicles inside the city, which is expected to:
    • lower pollution
    • reduce congestion
    • improve traffic safety
  • Additionally, the project is likely to boost logistics, transport operations, warehousing, and real estate development around Jaipur’s outer region.
